That being said: Welcome to 2817 E Loretta Drive in Tucson Arizona!
This is a 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath home in Central Tucson, near Grant and Country Club. It’s 1080 square feet, and sits on a 0.308 acre R-2 lot at the end of a cul-de-sac.
The roof was just replaced in April of 2008, and it has both A/C and an evaporative cooler.
One of the reasons I loved this house when I first bought it was because of the character. The exposed plank and beam ceilings are visible throughout the entire home, excepting the hallway and the bathrooms. The living room has beautiful exposed burnt adobe brick walls too, and a nice big picture window off the front door.
I’ve always enjoyed the volume of space in the living room. This isn’t an enormous house, but it has a good layout, and the taller ceilings make everything seem a little more roomy. Those are polished concrete floors, which run throughout the house, except for the bathrooms which have a slate tile floor.
The picture on the left, above, is of the dining area, which is open to the kitchen and living room. The picture on the right shows you where the dining room sits in relation to the kitchen and living room. The windows here look out onto the back patio.
The kitchen was remodeled over the past few years. Those are custom Oak cabinets, and a colored concrete countertop. The appliances are a couple years old, black and stainless, with an undermount sink and a dishwasher. The door you see in this picture leads out to the back patio, so it’s easy if you’re back there grilling or eating to carry things from the kitchen.
When we remodeled the kitchen, we designed custom cabinetry to make the most of the space. There are big pot and pan drawers, lots of spice and silverware type drawers, and pullouts in the other lower cabinets. There’s also a nice tumbled marble tile backsplash.
This is the full bath off the hallway, with the slate tile floors and newer fixtures. With a pedestal sink, you always need some other kind of storage, so I built that little cabinet you see on the right side of this picture.
What’s nice about the cabinet is that the doors open and then slide back inside the cabinet, so when it is open, the doors aren’t in the way.
There’s also a nice big mirror with a blue tile surround, and a newer light fixture in this bathroom.
Also, just outside this bathroom is a linen closet and the hall coat closet.
These are two of the bedrooms. The first one on the left is the smaller of the two, and made an excellent office space for us while we lived there. The other bedroom is larger and has two good sized windows to let in plenty of light. You can see the beamed ceilings and the concrete floors in these rooms too.
This is the master bedroom, which has an attached half bath and it’s own exit to the back patio.
Just outside that door to the back patio is a separate room which has laundry hook-ups and some storage space.
The other reason we initially purchased this house was for the gigantic yard. It’s zoned R-2, so it may be possible to put an additional unit back here. There’s a double gate off the driveway, so if you need to pull in and park a boat or RV, there’s plenty of room to do so and still have lots of yard left over.
The yard actually wraps all the way around to the front, and is completely fenced. We had big dogs, so the dogs had access to the whole yard, but we fenced off the entrance, so visitors and delivery people could use the front entrance to the gate safely, while the dogs were contained in the side and back yards.
This shows you a little bit of the patio. It’s a good sized covered patio, with room for storage as well.
The patio was one of my favorite places. There was room for our BBQ, a seating area, some storage, and there was always plenty of room.
The house has a single carport, with storage at the back, and there is room to park just beside the carport. It’s wide enough to fit at least 2 cars at the widest part, plus the carport space. This picture also shows you the double gate, which is one of the ways to access the back yard.
Here’s the floorplan. If you click on it, it will make the picture bigger.
