Tucson at Night

May 30, 2007 | By Kelley Koehler | Filed Under Odds and Ends

It’s a beautiful night in Tucson.

This is one of those nights where you sit outside, enjoy a cool drink, and wait for the stars to slowly open their eyes.

Clear nights and a full moon.

Nights like this are why I love this city.

This is what summer in Tucson is all about.  Long evenings on the patio, looking for satellites, watching the moon rise and make a slow trek across the night sky.

Almost makes you want to grab a pillow and blanket and spend the night in the hammock out back.

Almost enough to make me forget I’m an Arizona State grad and actually spend more than five hours in Tucson at a time. Don’t think I’ve actually spent the night in your fair city since 1991. Football game ends, I’m on the road. :-)

I do love Tucson at night. I just wish my camera (or my photography skills) were able to do that moon justice.

I do love summer in Tucson.
And hammocks.  There’s nothing like just before the sun goes down, when the day has cooled and dusk slowly appears, to be swinging in the hammock, shoes off, cold drink in hand.
