Bistro Zin – R.I.P.
May 25, 2007 | By Kelley Koehler | Filed Under Restaurants
It’s a sad day for Tucson. The popular Bistro Zin is closing their doors.
The Zin was one of my favorite upscale places, very cool and swanky, yet casual enough to be comfortable. I will miss the fabulous deserts and the wine flights. The service was always impeccable.
Fox Restaurants, the owner of Bistro Zin among other restaurants, says they will place a “hip modern” burger and beer eatery in the old Zin space, to have a lower price point dining option in the area.
Sigh.
Bye Bye Bistro Zin. You will be missed.

Got something to say?

Sorry for the loss. I used to be in the restaurant business in my previous business life. The Fox Group is well known in the restaurant world and I have viewed their sites numerous times for inspiration when we had our place.
Well, a couple of years behind the times apparently… I just re-visited Tucson and was looking forward to a visit to Bistro Zin. To say I was disappointed when I saw it had been changed to a burger joint is an understatement, to say the least. However… I have to say that Zin Burger is not ‘just a burger joint’. I was very pleasantly surprised by my experience. The burger was great and the sides were as well (i love the zuch fries). We also enjoyed some very good, and relatively well priced wine by the glass.
I still regret Bistro being gone, but knowing how things change in the biz, it could have come out a lot worse!
